Privacy Policy — Stellar Observatory
Effective date: June 7, 2026
Developer: pulseofthemgts · App: Stellar Observatory · Google Play package: com.stellarobservatory.game (Play Store Android build only)
Overview
Stellar Observatory is an idle astronomy game. pulseofthemgts does not operate user accounts, login servers, or cloud backends for gameplay. Most information stays on your device. Some features on certain builds use third-party services (Google) as described below.
This policy applies to:
- The browser version (on this site and on itch.io)
- Android downloads from itch.io
- The Google Play version (
com.stellarobservatory.game)
Information we collect
Data stored on your device (not sent to us)
The game saves progress locally, including:
- Game progress (resources, upgrades, prestige, catalog, achievements)
- Display and audio preferences
- Premium / supporter status and Stellar Credits balance (where applicable)
Browser: data is stored in your browser's local storage. Android / app: data is stored in the app's private storage on your device. We do not automatically upload this data to developer-operated servers.
Cloud save codes (optional, user-initiated)
You may export a cloud save code (STELLAR1:…) to copy and back up progress yourself. Importing a code is manual on your device. We do not receive or store these codes unless you choose to share them with someone else.
Supporter codes (itch.io builds)
On itch.io and related non–Play Store Android builds, you may redeem a supporter code locally. Codes are validated on-device. We do not operate a login server for this feature.
Advertising (Google AdMob) — Play Store & some Android builds
On builds that include ads, we use Google AdMob to show optional rewarded video ads (for bonuses such as offline progress or Stellar Credits). Ads are never required to play the game.
AdMob and its partners may collect and use information such as:
- Advertising ID
- IP address
- Device information
- App interaction and ad engagement data
This is used to deliver, measure, and personalize ads where permitted. Where required, the app shows Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent flow before personalized ads. Learn more: Google Privacy Policy · Google Advertising. You can reset or limit ad tracking in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads (wording may vary by device).
In-app purchases (Google Play)
On the Google Play build, you may purchase Supporter Edition (removes ads) and Stellar Credit packs. Payments are processed entirely by Google Play. We do not receive your payment card details. Google may provide purchase confirmation so we can unlock content and support restore purchases. Learn more: Google Privacy Policy.
Google Play Games cloud backup (optional, Play Store only)
On the Play Store build, you may optionally sign in with Google Play Games to upload or restore a save file. This is not required to play. Save data is stored in Google's Play Games cloud when you choose to upload it. We do not operate the servers that store this backup. Learn more: Google Privacy Policy.

Children's privacy
Stellar Observatory is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us via itch.io and we will work to address it. The Play Store version includes optional ads; parents should review Google Play age ratings and device parental controls.
Security
Save data is stored in the app's private storage (or browser local storage on the web). Cloud save codes are encoded for portability — treat them like a password; anyone with the code can import that save. Data sent to Google services uses encrypted connections (HTTPS).
International users
If you use the game outside your home country, data processed by Google (ads, purchases, optional cloud saves) may be handled in accordance with Google's global operations and policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the game after changes means you accept the updated policy.
